Privacy Policy — Live Site Clone

In short: Live Site Clone does not collect, store on any server, sell, or share your personal data. Everything the extension does happens locally in your browser.
Overview
Live Site Clone is a Chrome extension that lets you select any section of a webpage and export it as a standalone, self-contained HTML/CSS file. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and why.
Information We Collect
Live Site Clone does not collect, transmit, or have access to any personal information, browsing history, authentication credentials, financial information, health information, or communications. The extension has no backend server and does not send any data over the network to us or to any third party.
When you actively use the extension to select an element on a page, it reads that element’s markup, computed styles, and referenced images, classified as website content, so it can rebuild the section as a portable HTML/CSS file. This happens only on the page you are currently viewing and only when you invoke the picker — the extension does not run in the background or monitor pages you are not actively cloning from.
How Your Data Is Used and Stored
The most recently cloned result is saved using Chrome’s local storage API (chrome.storage.local) on your own device, so you can return to the side panel and export it.
Images referenced by the selected element are fetched directly from the page and converted to Base64 so the exported file works standalone, offline.
No data is uploaded to any server operated by us or any third party. No analytics, tracking, or advertising services are used.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not use any data collected by the extension for purposes unrelated to its single purpose, cloning a page section into HTML/CSS, and we do not use any data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions, used strictly to support its core function:
activeTab — temporary access to the tab you’re viewing when you open the extension.
scripting — injects the element picker and extractor into the active page on demand.
storage — saves your most recent clone locally on your device.
sidePanel — displays the extension’s interface in Chrome’s side panel.
Host permission (all sites) — required so the picker can work on whichever website you choose to clone from.
Remote Code
Live Site Clone does not fetch or execute any remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. All code that runs is packaged with the extension.
Children’s Privacy
Live Site Clone is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised effective date.
